Solid Info's team has prepared a special report about the Chechen fighters in the Ukrainian Patriotic War
The Russian Federation started its modern imperial history with aggression toward the Chechen people, crushing the independence of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria.
Now Putin uses the same tactics in Ukraine previously in Chechnya.
The two conflicts: the continuing Russian campaign against the Chechen people and its war against Ukraine, are unseparated from one another in many ways, which we pointed out in our previous report about the Chechen-Ukrainian relationship.
Ramzan Kadyrov, Putin's puppet ruler of Chechnya, is now carrying out a Stalin-style mass terror campaign against Chechen civilians to stop potential resistance. His main goal is to show Putin his loyalty and help Putin stay in power, which means assisting Putin in winning his war against Ukraine.
At the same time, many Chechens who had previously fled from their homeland to Europe continued to help Ukraine in different ways, from humanitarian support to actual fighting. However, their poor understanding of the current situation in occupied Chechnya is putting them - and many other refugees-in danger. Because Russia still has an opportunity to ask for extradition through the Interpol system and other international channels, the Russian government is abusing these tools against people who oppose their imperialism or just for people they don’t like for any reason.
So, this new report is dedicated both to human rights violations in Kadyrov's-controlled Chechnya and Kadyrov’s war against Ukraine, as well as Chechen volunteers fighting against Russian aggression in Ukraine, their military news, European attitudes toward pro-Ukrainian fighters from Chechnya, and human rights violations against refugees in Europe as a whole. So, it’s both a military report and a report about human rights questions because, in the current situation, one issue is unassociated with the other.
Ayman Eckford, our expert in Middle Eastern politics, terrorist studies, and gender studies, deserves special thanks for preparing the report.
